Summer Vacation 2010

Not long after the start of the kids' summer vacation, my work made changes to my schedule.  While devastating at first, I quickly looked at the bright side - I still have a job, I get most weekends off now, and I get PTO and STD.  I was really missing my weekends (I worked EVERY weekend, and missed so much.  So... given my new schedule, we decided to book a vacation (more than just Sun-Thurs, which is all I have been limited to in the past).  Our favorite place is Vegas, so we looked at my time off, and found a block of time to go.  I fanangled an extra day off, and ended up with another shorter block of time off... what to do... what to do....?  I really wanted the kids to be able to see their cousins... so we planned a short and sweet visit to Los Angeles (thinking short and sweet was better than nothing!).  While there, we planned a trip to Sea World.  I hadn't been there in FOREVER, and the boys had never been there.  So... our trip was set.  It was going to be a lot of driving... but driving is cheaper than flying!  In all, it was about 1400 miles of driving... and our vacation was go go go .... just the way I like it... and NOT the way Johnny likes it.  My idea of a vacation is to do as  much as I can... show the kids as much as I can.  Johnny's idea is to rest.  Not the best matched vacationers.... but the rest of our marriage is quite well balanced. ;)
