Spring is here!

I love spring! Especially the smell of orange blossoms! My favorite scent ever! Here are some signs of spring in my backyard (and the fresh pruning thanks to my gardener!) Something also exciting… almonds!! I didn’t think I would have any since the tree I have needs a pollinator… (my other almond tree died last summer). So I was surprised to see almonds! J

Black Belt Ceremony

All black belts get a Black belt Ceremony… all the black belts in the karate school light a candle (the first candle signifies the head honcho (Master someone who is a 9th degree black belt) and then all the other black belts (in descending order) light their candle from that same candle… all the way down to the new black belts (there were three including Nicolas who got new 1st degree black belts yesterday).  It's a very interesting ceremony… and Nicolas keeps his candle and uses it for the next candle ceremony when someone new gets a black belt.  Here are some pictures from the ceremony.
