Nicolas turned 7 years old on March 17th (awesome day to have a birthday!!) He had a party at Golfland on Sunday the 14th. He had so much fun! He just loves mini-golf! Lots of friends, and his Grandpa John were there to celebrate with him. He had a cake for his party, then wanted another one on the day of his birthday. He's not a sweet eater… so he never even eats the cake. This time was no exception. Oh well. For his birthday from us, he got a "two-wheeled" scooter, a skateboard (which I told him he couldn't have until he learned to ride his bike), and roller blades (he wants to learn to ice skate and play hockey after watching the winter Olympics). And naturally he also got a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. He was sick a lot of last week, so we haven't had him out much to test the stuff out yet. That's another thing… he had his first ever ear infection… and with it antibiotics. This is the first time in his life he's been on antibiotics. He made it one day shy of 7 years! Extended breastfeeding and no daycare contributed to that! (There were too many pictures for one post, so I had to split up the pictures into two posts).
The very unexciting lives of Stephanee and John... and the very exciting lives of Emma, Nicolas, and Max.

Painting Part 2 Upstairs
We didn't make any mistakes with colors for upstairs… except the color we chose for our bedroom. Johnny hated it. The master bath was done first, and the same color was going in the master bedroom. But Johnny didn't like it for the whole room. So we changed it at the last minute and chose a different color (which we both love). We kept the master bath as is (because I still liked it).
Emma's room is a beautiful dark aqua and light aqua. It looked much better before she hung up all her pictures again.
We didn't do Nicolas' room because it was done when I pregnant with Max. It's dark green with a NY Jets border.
Painting Part 1 - Downstairs
A couple weeks ago, we had our entire house painted! It looks so good now!! The awful white flat paint the builders used was dirty and scuffed up in high traffic areas. It just looked awful! I am so pleased with the new look now! Here are some before and after pictures. (Don't mind the mess… everything was thrown into the center of the room, so there was mass destruction!)
While I love the yellow in my kitchen we quickly realized it did not look good in our family room (which is an extension of the kitchen). So after an evening of convincing myself I would get used to it, we finally asked the painters to repaint it. I was so relieved once it was redone!
This is my first attempt at posting to my blog from an email… let's see how it goes!

Happy Birthday Max!
For his birthday today, he received his birthday calls from my sisters and parents, and we had my friend Renita over with her two little ones... Kylie (4) and Zach (1). We had dinner, cake, and presents!! His present this year was pretty easy... since he has mastered the tricycle, we got him a 2 wheeler with training wheels. He LOVES it!! He was riding it all around the house tonight. :) He also got some new books... he LOVES the nightly ritual of "book reading" before bed...he and his brother each choose a book, I read Max's and Nicolas reads his. We choose who goes first with "the number game" (pick a number (one of my fingers) between one and ten). Along the way we have picked up "Nicolas' Number game" and Max's "Number Game". Nicolas actually picks a number between one and ten... either Max or I win... then Max does his... I pick a finger (number) and Nicolas picks a finger (number)... then Max looks skyward as he decides who won... purely random... but he usually picks Nicolas as the winner. It's too darned cute!
Here's some pics from today's festivities...
